The Scoop: A cozy cruiser of the highest order, the 1080v8 has a plush interior, a soft sensation under foot and the ability to produce pure joy on runs of any length. Utilizing runner wear-test data, the geometric patterning of the full-length Fresh Foam midsole and rubber outsole has been updated (from convex to concave) to generate a softer landing and a more fluid ride. Additional updates include a redesigned engineered mesh for improved breathability and fit and new flex grooves on the outsole that increases flexibility and agility.
Who It’s Best For: Any and every runner will benefit from this shoe. No matter what your skill or experience level, you’re bound to enjoy this shoe and put it to good use. It’s ideal for long runs, easy runs, recovery runs and, for some, the perfect tool for running a half marathon or marathon.
Plus: A breathable engineered mesh upper with a molded foam collar and a no-sew interior bootie fit offers an extra snug-feel.
Minus: The updates and improvements to this version of the 1080 actually resulted in the shoe getting slightly heavier. Although it’s heavier than most shoes in this review, it hasn’t changed how this shoe feels and rides.
