The Scoop: A very capable and affordably priced trail runner, the GOtrail 2 has been updated with a new open-mesh upper that improves its breathability and overall fit. It has a marshmallowly soft midsole, great traction from its low-profile but effective lugs, and a locked-down fit.
Who’s it best for? A trail runner who likes a very soft ride under foot. The GOtrail 2 is best for a runner with a neutral gait and strong lower legs and ankles who can handle the high-off-the-ground sensation and extremely soft midsole cushioning. It feels light and nimble out on the trails, especially on smooth terrain. Our wear-testers liked it best for flat dirt paths, fire roads and semi-technical trails without too much loose debris.
Plus: This is a really good shoe with an amazing price, but it’s much more than a value-oriented model. It’s actually a very credible trail runner.
Minus: Not all of our wear-testers appreciated the super soft midsole, and a few said it was a bit unstable on steeper and more technical terrain.
